Picture Report - Work & Life Hack for Independents #3 (19 May 2026)

"Work & Life Hacks for Independents" was never meant to be “another event.”

It’s a peer-learning space where independents:

– Share real use cases and learn directly from each other and from experts

 – Gain visibility inside a serious professional community

 – Strengthen their positioning.

Many thanks to Mo Geffen from https://www.1000eyes.lu for the beautiful pictures.

The 3rd edition of our "Hacks" series included:

1. 37 years as self‑employed in Luxembourg - What does a life‑long independent in Luxembourg learn over three decades? Francis Hoogewerf shared key challenges he has faced and major satisfactions that kept him going over 37 years of self‑employment here in Luxembourg, with practical, honest insights that never make it into official reports.

  1. What happens when the CNPD knocks? - Everyone has heard of the CNPD. Very few independents know what actually happens when a customer makes a complaint and an enquiry starts. Florent Kling, Commissioner at the National Commission for Data Protection (CNPD), explained in plain language how an enquiry is triggered, how the CNPD assesses your case, the most common mistakes even small structures make, and how you, as an independent, can prepare and protect yourself.

3. New KPIs for business in the age of AI - Productivity and growth are no longer enough. In the age of AI, other indicators are becoming decisive: trust, adaptability, speed of learning, quality of human relationships, decision transparency, resilience and the ability to build meaningful ecosystems around technology. Alexandra Tsyliya, Communications Officer in global data & AI consulting company T1A, and personal brand mentor, shared why global business is changing faster than most people realise, which KPIs will matter most for independents in the next few years, and how these shifts are transforming the very definition of value, influence and leadership.

4. White Paper and a new law proposal regarding SARL and SARL-S - Finally, Clara Moraru, our President, opened the floor for discussions on our White Paper, released on Labour Day, which sets out 10 major inequities affecting self‑employed workers in Luxembourg. Then, we conducted a consultation of members on a new law proposal tabled by MP Sven Clément to modernise the legal and tax framework for SARL and SARL‑S companies, in particular for innovative startups and employee participation in capital.
